The Cattaraugus County Planning Division provides countywide planning and community development services to the constituents of Cattaraugus County. These services include developing and implementing countywide plans and strategies for economic development, agricultural protection, tourism, transportation, and environmental protection.

Some of the projects the County Planning Division has been involved in recently are:

• "Smart Development for Quality Communities" Guidebook Series - a series of eight guidebooks that lays out a vision for the County for growing our communities using our unique assets while preserving the rural characteristics that make Cattaraugus County Naturally Yours.
• Equestrian Initiative - a strategy to develop the equestrian economy in Cattaraugus County.
• Community Transportation Coalition of Cattaraugus County - assisting in the development of a rural transporation plan for Cattaraugus County.
