Today, Jerry Borden of Emma's Mission delivered two pet oxygen kits to Office of Emergency Services staff. The kits will be kept with response supplies to assist with pets, such as dogs, cats, and ferrets, suffering from smoke inhalation from structure fires. The kits could also be used to assist pets during other instances of respiratory distress during a disaster.
The ability to give aid to pets at the scene of an emergency or disaster can be critical to both saving the life of the animal and comforting their owners. We are thankful to Jerry and Emma's Mission for proving us with the ability to help our furry friends in addition to the community.
Cathi and Savage demonstrate how the mask would be applied. The pets nose can be inserted into the mask for best use. There are 3 sizes of masks to fit most pets.
