Summer Jobs for Youth
The Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services is ready to help area youth find summer jobs through the Summer Youth Employment Program. The Department will assist youth between the ages of 14 and 20 who meet eligibility requirements with job interview skills, professional conduct and in finding work. Last year Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services staff assisted 164 area youth from communities across Cattaraugus County.
Outreach dates are as follows:
May 1 Salamanca Public Library, 2:30-4pm
May 4 Department of Social Services, Olean County Building -2:30-4pm
May 8 Salamanca Public Library, 2:30-4pm
May 11 Cattaraugus Fireman's Club, Cattaraugus - 2:30-4pm
May 13 King Memorial Library, Machias - 2:30-4pm
May 14 Little Valley Library, 2:30-4pm
May 18 Department of Social Services, Olean County Building -2:30-4pm
May 19 Blount Library, Franklinville, 2:30-4pm
May 21 Department of Social Services, Olean County Building -2:30-4pm
May 26 Department of Social Services, Olean County Building -2:30-4pm
May 29 Blount Library, Franklinville - 2:30-4pm
The following documentation will be needed:
- Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- School Record
- Proof of ALL household income
- Proof of residence
- Photo ID
- Work Permit **If under 18
- Parent or guardian signature on forms **if under 18
For over 10 years, the Department of Social Services dedicated staff has administered this federally funded program to recruit, train and place youth with participating employers.
