Urgent Need for Meals on Wheels Volunteers!

News from Aging, Posted on Tue, 01/27/2015 - 11:17am

The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging's Senior Wellness and Nutrition Program needs your help. During the winter some of our dedicated volunteers go south for a deserved break. We are currently looking for volunteers in the Olean, West Valley, Randolph, & Salamanca areas. Most volunteers deliver 7 to 12 meals once a week taking about one hour (10:45am - 11:45am) to complete a route. Limited volunteer mileage reimbursement available through the Cattaraugus County Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

The purpose of the Senior Wellness & Nutrition Program is to maintain independence, delay or prevent nursing home placement, and improve or maintain current health status of the homebound participants. Without volunteers, the delivery of meals would be impossible.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer please call the Cattaraugus County Dept. of the Aging at (716) 373-8032 or 1 (800) 462-2901.
