Living with Bipolar Disorder... An Evening of Community Conversation and Education

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, Bipolar Disorder affects approximately 5.7 million people in the U.S., or nearly 3% of the population over the age of 18 in a given year. 

Please join us for a 40 minute film from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention that depicts 3 people who have been treated for Bipolar Disorder, as well as the widow of a man who struggled with a mood disorder that was most likely undiagnosed Bipolar Disorder, and ultimately died by suicide. 

Following the viewing of "Living with Bipolar Disorder," Dr. Shahnawaz Meer, M.D., consulting psychiatrist for the Cattaraugus County Dept of Community Services will faciliate a question and answer forum regarding Bipolar Disorder and other mental health diagnoses.

Sarah Clark, WNY Chapter Director of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will provide suicide prevention/postvention resources/materials.
