The Civil War: A New Exhibit
A New exhibit opening at the Cattaraugus County Museum!
On April 12th, a date that marks the 150th anniversary of the bombardment of Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor, the Cattaraugus County Museum will open a new exhibit: "The Civil War". This exhibit will focus on the legacy of soldiers from Cattaraugus County and the surrounding region. Featured is the personal collection of Civil War artifacts of Craig Senfield, on loan for this exhibit, and a collection of Civil War related stamps on loan by Steven Teachman. This exhibit will run through September 30, 2011.
The museum is located on the first floor of the Stone House, 9824 Route 16, Machias. Our hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm. From May to October, we will be open on the third Saturday of each month from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Our phone number is 716-353-8200.
