Celebrate Public Health Week
Dr. Kevin Watkins, Public Health Director of the Cattaraugus County Health Department has announced that there will be health screenings and educational information during National Public Health Week, April 5 - 11, 2010 at the Cattaraugus County Health Department located at 1 Leo Moss Drive in Olean, NY. This year's theme is A Healthier America: One Community at a Time.
Public Health is a part of our everyday lives, from the water we drink and the air we breathe, to the laws that protect us from injury and vaccines that help us stay healthy. National Public Health Week is a time to highlight the importance of taking action. Activities at the Olean Office of the Health Department during Public Health Week include:
Immunization Day Monday, April 5th--9:00 a.m. - Noon
Be sure you are up to date. Immunizations for children under age 19 are free. H1N1 vaccine will also be available to anyone for free. No appointment is needed.
Tobacco Education Day Tuesday, April 6th--9:00 a.m. - Noon
Oxygen levels will be checked, carbon dioxide levels will be measured. Let us help you quit!
Reproductive Health Awareness Day Wednesday, April 7th--9:00 a.m. - Noon
HIV testing, Family Planning Information.
Health Fair Thursday, April 8th--9:00 a.m. --12:30 p.m.
Blood Pressure, Osteoporosis, Glucose and Cancer Screenings, Breast Exams, Lead Testing, Body Mass Index, Taste Testing, Poison Display, Information tables and Much More!

10:00 a.m. - Noon at Bethany Lutheran Church. Certified technicians will assist in the proper installation of your safety seat. Bring child.
Operation Safe Child
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church sponsored by Sheriff's Office. Photo ID cards will be issued to parents or legal guardians.
